Alicia's Journey with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH)
SURGERY DONATION DRIVE

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a condition where pressure inside the skull becomes too high for no clear reason, usually because the body isn’t draining cerebrospinal fluid properly, leading to severe headaches and vision problems that can cause permanent vision loss if untreated.

Alicia needs urgent, life-saving medical care both in Jamaica and overseas

Alicia Robinson has been fighting Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) since 2021. This neurological disorder causes dangerous pressure around the brain, leading to severe headaches, vision loss, nausea, dizziness, and daily, debilitating pain.

Over the years she has endured:
1. Multiple lumbar punctures
2. Several shunt surgeries
3. Continuous ER visits
4. Progressive vision changes
5. Daily symptoms that disrupt every part of her life

Despite doing everything possible, her condition has now reached a critical stage.

Alicia now requires two essential surgeries in Jamaica and overseas that cannot be delayed:
1. Shunt Revision Surgery
Her current shunt is not adequately controlling the pressure. Without proper revision, the pressure continues to damage her brain vision and worsen her symptoms.

2. Optic Nerve Sheath Fenestration (ONSF)
A specialist, vision-saving procedure not offered in Jamaica. ONSF is needed to protect her optic nerves and prevent irreversible blindness.

These surgeries are time-sensitive and life-saving. Without them, Alicia risks permanent vision loss and further neurological damage.

Why Your Support is Critical:
Alicia has fought with courage, faith, and determination through every setback but surgery is extremely expensive, and she cannot cover the costs alone.

Your donation will directly help her:
1. Protect her remaining eyesight
2. Reduce dangerous brain pressure
3. Prevent further neurological damage
4. Access specialist care unavailable in Jamaica
5. Regain a chance at stability and better quality of life

No amount is too small. Every contribution pushes her closer to the treatment she urgently needs.

Financial Goal: Total Needed: 2 Million JMD
(Covers both surgeries, hospital fees, imaging, consultations and post-op care)

“Your help today could be the reason she opens her eyes tomorrow and still sees the world.”
