Melonia Waugh Shining Hope Foundation
Shining Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization seeking to restore hope for the future of young mothers whose educational and personal development dreams have been delayed or set aside. The Foundation was birthed out of the findings of a 2018 research which I conducted to explore the psychological impact of teenage pregnancy on teen mothers' pursuit of secondary education.
Despite the stigma created by society, Shining Hope Foundation is committed to journeying with young mothers in a non-judgmental environment to achieve their dreams; bringing an end to the pause or, for some, removing the full stop in their educational pursuits. Their tenacity and resilience will speak for them and give them the hope to propel them into a brighter future.
