Kandi King is dubbed the “Kween of Karnival” in Jamaica. In less than ten years, she’s one of the most recognized faces in the country’s carnival industry. Launching her own series of carnival related ventures, she has assisted hundreds of people to attend Caribbean Carnivals in Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Miami, Cayman Islands and London with her one stop shop service. In 2017 she took it a step further becoming a Director of the band Xaymaca International, one of the premiere carnival bands in Jamaica.

But for Kandi, her greatest contribution to the world was when she became a mom to her beautiful baby girl Korus, in January 2021.

She is known to some as the one with the powerful voice. To others, she is Jamaica’s favourite songbird, but to nearly 2 year-old Zaia, Tessanne is simply Mommy. Her entrance to motherhood comes as part of a captivating life journey that has seen this Jamaican sweetheart conquer fears, achieve dreams and inspire an entire nation.

Today, she continues to inspire by sharing honest and authentic conversations with her social media followers such as “this is me stepping into a space that I’m now 100% sure of, but doing it anyway.”

Dr Terri-Karelle Reid, is a human ethernet- connector of people and dots! Having graced the stage at events across the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and the USA, she has built a brand that is synonymous with the word excellence in the world of Event and TV Hosting, Speaking, Content Curation, Online Branding and Storytelling.

As a community builder. She uses her platforms to inspire, challenge, motivate and advocate. Terri-Karelle is mother to 9-year-old Naima whose quick wit and honest filter keep her mom in-check for all the world to see. Terri-Karelle's recent TEDx talk in Birmingham, UK on the topic "The untapped potential of raising children holistically” raises her benchmark once again as she continues to define herself as mom-extraordinaire.

Dr. Thea-Nicole Davis, a clinician with over fifteen years of experience, currently specializing in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine. She is a Consultant at the Mandeville Regional Hospital actively pursuing her a profession that offered her the perfect combination – surgery and the continuity of care and women’s health.

The delivery of ‘well woman care’ – taking care of all women’s needs from preconception, antenatal and postnatal became her passion very early in her medical career and has allowed her to deliver exceptional care to the hundreds of patients she sees at the Public Hospital as well as those she sees in her Private Practice.

She hold a Doctorate of Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, (DM (OBGYN) and completed her Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine and High Risk Obstetrics at University of the West Indies, Mona.

In keeping with her personal mantra of “In vain you have acquired knowledge if you have not imparted it to others” Dr. Davis since 2012 is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Undergraduate and Post Graduate Levels combining her love of medicine, a solid background academically and professionally with that of teaching and motivating her students.

Dr. Lisa Franklin-Banton is a consultant Paediatrician at We ‘R’ Kids Paediatric Centre, since July 2010. A native of Barbados,Dr.Franklin- Banton completed her MBBS at the University of the West Indies ( Trinidad and Barbados Campuses) in June 2000. She then went on to do her internship at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau Bahamas .In January 2002, she relocated to Jamaica and started her Paediatric Residency at the University Hospital of the West Indies. She completed her DM (Paediatrics)in June 2006. Since that time she has been working in private practice.

Dr. Franklin-Banton is a member of the Paediatric Association of Jamaica ( PAJ), Medical Association of Jamaica and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has served the PAJ in many roles and was the president from 2012-2014. She has made numerous contributions on various topics in Paediatrics both in the print and broadcast media.

Dr Franklin-Banton is married with three teenage sons. She believes in beginning her day at the gym or on a long run. When not in the office she can be found supporting her sons at one of their school or sporting events or assisting her youngest son with his pet sanctuary.
She is passionate about children and parenting and uses her social media pages to raise awareness and give support to so many of the challenges facing our children and parents in today's changing world.
