Here is a man who knows where he is going but is also thankful for where he is coming from. Born on December 12, 1988, Kumar McCarty Bent was raised in the parish of Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica. As a young man he found himself frequenting sound system hubs in the neighboring parish of Clarendon, where he would purchase dubplates for resale in other sections of the island. It was not long before he found himself ghostwriting for upcoming artists, most notably Duane Stephenson who hired Kumar for a project in collaboration with producer Christopher Birch. A working relationship was then established with Birch, and Kumar grew into a full-fledged artist, known originally as Damari. His artistic development continued with productions from Notis Records before he was approached by Raging Fyah to become the band’s lead singer. Damari then became the world renown Kumar, helping the outfit to break beyond a local industry usually unaligned with band culture to become one of the forefront bands of the Reggae Revival movement.

The rest, of course, is history. Yet this is a history still unfolding and one in which Kumar has returned to life as a solo artist, feeling renewed and experiencing new heights of creativity. The first single of this new phase, ‘It’s Alright’ (produced by Nebulus Records/Big Yard Music) is a signal to his longtime supporters that Kumar’s usual strength of voice and depth of message are not going anywhere, anytime soon. At the same time he is evidently evolving beyond the usual genres and sounds that have previously accompanied his words. Going forward, Kumar is delving deeper into various sources of inspiration and he invites us all to join him the rest of the way on his incredible musical journey. ... Show Less

Chris Malachi is an artiste on a mission to impact the hearts and minds of people with his potent lyrics and soul stirring vocal delivery, combined with genre-bending sounds, grounded in his own Jamaican culture. Malachi, a name which means "one who is charged with a message", encapsulates how much he believes in the transformative power of music.

His musical journey started at an early age when his parents noticed his ability to remember songs from church as he would often learn and practice them on the keyboard at home. This prompted them to enrol him for piano classes. As time progressed, he joined the church choir- his first platform as a vocalist and performer. He would also develop an interest in poetry and songwriting through English Language and Literature classes in high school. During his time as a student of the University Of The West Indies, Chris would join several performance and musical groups, where he had the opportunity to perform many different styles of music, ranging from Jazz to Roots Reggae. These experiences gave him the tools to hone his skills as vocalist, writer, musical arranger and/or co-producer for much of his work.

Chris Malachi would go on to meet J.L.L., a prolific and talented producer who has worked with the likes of Chronixx, Kelissa, Masego, Govana, Jaz Elise, Royal Blu and many more. On August 30, 2019, Chris Malachi, in collaboration J.L.L., released his debut EP "The Messenger". Since then Chris has released a slew of singles such as “We Move”, which features nine of his artist peers and now his latest, Graveyard Shift, produced by regular collaborator Yo Christon.

“I believe the first responsibility for an artist is to be honest with his art; to express his reality and the world around him as he understands it. This is what will challenge the audience to look into themselves and face truth. It is through this process that change can begin.”- Chris Malachi

Yared “Boomdraw” Lee is pushing the boundaries of Jamaican music forward. The Grammy-nominated producer, DJ, A&R, and cultural connector grew up with music embedded all around him. With his father, Karlyle ‘Gabre Selassie’ Lee, is the owner of Kingston Dub Club: home of the Rockers Soundsystem and host to a lively weekly celebration of roots, rockers, reggae and dub music. From his interactions in the space, he adopted a desire to champion culture in all its forms.

Inspired by the sample-filled hip hop of the 90s, and the then-burgeoning success of Soulection, he dived into production. As a self-taught producer, he experimented with lo-fi beats dipped in inflections of the musical stylings from his native to create his signature sound.

Lee made his way through school and moved to Miami, Florida to pursue tertiary education. However, he still felt like he was in better service to the culture that birthed him. He continued to create beats and began compiling playlists on SoundCloud. For Lee, the playlists were an opportunity to show the musical breadth, diversity and capacity of emerging Jamaican artists and producers. After curating two volumes of the playlists, aptly titled New Sounds of Jamaica, they picked up traction and were noticed by VP Records, the world's largest reggae music and distribution company.

Taking a chance on himself, the artist decided to dedicate himself to his cultural work, left university and landed a job as a Marketing Consultant for the label. Standing at the cusp of amplifying new sounds, artists and cultural innovators, all while creating an undeniable mark of his own, Lee is steadily carving his own space as being amongst the next generation of Jamaica’s cultural juggernauts. ...
