Step into the world of the Campion Dance Society, Jamaica’s most celebrated high school dance troupe—where raw talent meets world-class artistry. This is more than a school performance; it’s a full-scale dance production company that has staged acclaimed shows not only in Kingston, but also in Boston, New York, Florida, and as far as the Kingdom of Denmark.
As the only Jamaican high school dance troupe to mount full-length productions both locally and internationally, Campion continues to break new ground. Between 2010 and 2016, the group earned over 70 national gold medals and the prestigious Ivy Baxter Trophy in the JCDC Dance Competition. In 2017, the Society adopted a professional structure, stepping away from competition to offer a training and performance model that mirrors professional dance companies.
Today, Campion Dance Society is a launching pad for Jamaica’s emerging dance talent—with alumni dancing in companies such as NDTC, L’Acadco, and The Company Dance Theatre (CDT). While some have taken their craft overseas, the majority are making their mark on the local professional scene.
