He was known as “Little Freddie” and was only seven years old. That was when, in 1963, Freddie McGregor joined with Ernest Wilson and Peter Austin to form the Clarendonians and began to record for the Studio One label. Thus began the musical career of one of Jamaica’s most internationally acclaimed reggae artistes.

McGregor, who was also a member of Generation Gap, worked with producer Niney the Observer during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and in the same period was part of the resurgence of Studio One. He has also worked with producers Junjo Lawes, Linval Thompson, and Gussie Clarke, and has recorded as a drummer with artistes such as Sugar Minott and Judy Mowatt.

His popularity soared in the early 1980s with the release of “Bobby Babylon.” Other popular hits of McGregor’s have included “Big Ship,” “Push Comes to Shove,” “Just Don’t Want to Be Lonely” (a top ten hit in the UK), and “I Was Born a Winner,” as well as cover versions of many early reggae hits.

McGregor converted to Rastafari in 1975 and is a member of the Twelve Tribes religious group.

Rondell Allen, aka Rondell Positive, is a popular gospel entertainer not only in Jamaica but overseas. He is well-known for his positive lyrics and high energy performances. “The Man of Purpose” is a Miconian as after obtaining a diploma in primary education from the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) he later attended The Mico University College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

The name, Dean Fraser, is a well-known name not only in Jamaica but in many other countries of the world where reggae music is heard. He is a musical director, producer, vocalist and saxophonist whose virtuosity on the instrument has been greatly celebrated wherever in the world he has performed. He has been involved in music since the 1970's and has contributed to hundreds of reggae recordings.
A talented and brilliant musician, Dean Ivanhoe Fraser, has received many awards including the Musgrave Medal from Jamaica in 1993 in recognition of his services to music as well as the Order of Distinction, Officer Class in 2009.

Jon Williams is a proven maestro in the classical, jazz and gospel arenas. The flair and nimbleness he displays on the piano are duplicated on the violin. Those who attend his performances witness a man happily transported etherally, inviting his audience to enjoy sheer musical rapture. He embodies not only musical adroitness but his endearing savoir-faire is undisputably exceptional.
A 2010 Silver Musgrave Award recipient, Mr Willaims is a lecturer of “jazz piano” at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. He currently owns and operates Almond Productions Limited, a music production company that provides full digital recording facilities, live performances, and musical scores for theatre and advertising. His clientele includes theatrical and dance companies, artistes (singers), advertising agencies, corporations, private individuals, government agencies, and churches.

Mrs. Lori Burnett is a former voice lecturer of the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts. Mrs. Burnett is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia where she achieved at Bachelor of Music as a well as a Performer’s Certificate. She is now in full-time ministry and continues to use her gift whenever she can. Any success she experiences is attributed to God.

La Musicacion is a Jamaican performing arts group admirably reflecting musical diversity and excellence. Members of the group are all teachers or teachers in training, including teachers of music. The group consists mainly of graduates of the Mico University College Music Department/Unit or graduates of other departments at the University College.

Violist, Jovani Williams, is the son of Jon Williams. He started playing the viola at age 13, late by conventional musical standards. Six months thereafter, he captured three trophies at Jamaica’s premier performing arts festival and four trophies the following year. Under the tutelage of Mr. Steven Woodham, O.D., Paulette Bellamy O.D., and Dr. Lisa Walker, Jovani has racked up acclaim for his stage performances.

He currently holds a bachelor’s in viola performance from the Lynn University, Conservatory of Music, Florida. In the summer of 2018, Jovani was the featured performer at Class of Life, Classical Concert at the Vera Moody Hall, Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica. In a milestone contribution of national significance, his splendid violin arrangement of “Evening Time” was featured in the 2015 commemorative video in honor of Jamaica’s greatest folklorist, Louise Bennett- Coverly O.D. This piece was commissioned at the behest of The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC).

Erica Lumsden started singing at age nine. Her childhood and early teenage years were spent growing up adventurously in the beautiful parish of St. Mary, which she has represented on the national stage on numerous occasions via the various JCDC singing and performing arts competitions. From the age of 10, Erica has been singing for the Governor General, Prime Ministers and other high ranking officials, and at various parish and national civic ceremonies, including the annual Independence Grand Gala and most recently at the National Awards Ceremony held at Kings House.

Erica has multiple National Music Festival awards and was also the winner of the JCDC’s 2015 National Children's Gospel Song Competition in the 11-15 years solo category, and the 2021 JCDC Jamaica Gospel Star winner. She sings a wide range of musical styles and genres and has sung in churches locally and in the USA.

Tanice ‘Soul Child’ Morrison, is a graduate of the Mico University College, having successfully obtained her trained teacher diploma with specialization in music and reading. She credits her pursuit of music to her mother, her biggest inspiration, whom she says pushed her to enter the “Tastee Talent Show” in her early years.
Over the past decade she has toured locally and internationally as a background vocalist for artistes such as Jamaican guitarist, Dwight Pickney, and Richie Spice. Her many outstanding performers have included opening for a Kenny Rogers show in Kingston, Jamaica in 2004, alongside Ernie Smith and Maxi Priest; opening for the Chilites in New York at the ‘Roca Tone Mothers’ Day Ball in 2015, and billing with the Marley brothers, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Ken Boothe and other local artistes. Now honing her craft and establishing herself as a solo artiste, she has done radio advertisements and co-produced her own music. Her passion for music has propelled her to to perform and write her own music, including her debut album “No Limitations” and the single “My Caribbean Boy.”

The birth of the Tivoli Gardens Dance Troupe is credited to two late past principals: The Hon. Jeanette Grant-Woodham and Mrs. Grace Hamilton. Both women had a love for the arts and a passion for dancing. The group under their direction worked tirelessly to achieve mastery and excellence and in a very short time they became recognized especially by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC). Mrs. Jennifer Morgan-Garwood, who was groomed by Mrs Hamilton took the baton from her and in her role as artistic director and chief choreographer she helped the group to maintain its penchant for winning awards in the JCDC Festival Competition. The Dance Troupe has performed at many national, cultural and charity events, and state ceremonies overseas. Their international travel has been extensive, and particular mention has been made of their stellar performance in 2010 at the National Independence Award Ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, USA.
Ms Suberina Gabriel-West, teacher of business education at Tivoli Gardens High and a recent graduate of The Mico University College is currently the ballet mistress and assistant choreographer of the Tivoli Dance Troupe.

Michael has been a musician practically all his life. His love for music became evident at the tender age of two, as he was always intrigued with music and found creative ways to make melody.
The keyboard is his first love; however in recent years, the saxophone has been his close companion. He is a past student of the St. Jago High School and is currently a final year student of The Mico University College Music Unit specializing in music education.
Some of his accomplishments to date include:
