Share this pageThe For the Child Foster Care Programme is a private foster care programme in Jamaica which is executed by Family Life Ministries in partnership with the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) and Nairn Family Homes, Canada.
For the Child is an affiliate of the National Foster Care Programme operated by the CPFSA, which has responsibility for children in State care.
The programme is the first privately run foster care programme in Jamaica and was inspired by the need to provide loving families for children who are being raised in state-run institutions (children’s home). Currently, there are 30 children in the For the Child (FTC ) Programme and by the end of 2023, we are projecting that we will be caring for another 15 children. FTC's vision is that by the end of 2025, we will have 75 children being cared for by loving, caring foster parents. We believe that this programme will highlight to Jamaica, that children being looked after by parents in a loving environment is the optimal approach to raising healthy, well-rounded and socially adjusted children.
