Born in Kingston, Jamaica, but having spent several of her childhood years in the parish of St. Mary, Marjorie Straw benefited and experienced firsthand, the joys of living in a community where everyone looked out for each other, especially children. Carefree moments by the river, or at the standpipe with friends led to idyllic moments and strong bonds. It is the author’s belief that children should be encouraged to be curious and to explore their world, learning and growing as they do so. Suzy the Curious Snail represents the creative side of the author who herself, escapes into Suzy’s world and joins her on her adventures

Maria L. Harbajan, a former guidance counsellor and lecturer in Counselling Psychology at the Jamaica Theological Seminary, is the founder of OASIS Counselling Services since 2008. A speaker at conferences, retreats, seminars, and camps and producer of a bi-weekly radio programme, Arise And Build Jamaica. She has always carried the burden for helping individuals, marriages, families and workers to succeed in significant relationships in their personal lives and workplaces. She is also a Minister of Religion, wife and mother.
